Finding the right tyres
How to find the right tyres for your vehicle.
Your vehicle registration certificate will state the permitted tyre size for your vehicle. You are only allowed to fit tyres that are detailed in the registration certificate. Failure to comply with this will void the operating licence and can have severe legal consequences if an accident occurs, as well as invalidating your insurance cover. The size of the tyres currently fitted can be seen on the sidewall of the tyres. You can find suitable Uniroyal tyres for your car under the "Summer tyres" and "Winter tyres" headings.

If you wish to change over to tyres that are not listed on your registration certificate, you will need to engage a technical testing centre to certify that the tyres are suitable and to enter them onto the registration certificate. For more details, see our "Tyre approval" tips. If you require approval for a Uniroyal tyre, simply fill in our tyre approval form.

What you should also bear in mind when buying new tyres:
• Fit tyres with the same tread design to all wheels.
• When replacing tyres, change tyres on the same axle as a minimum.
• For four-wheel-drive vehicles, we recommend that identical tyres are used on all wheels unless the manufacturer specifies otherwise.
• Remember to replace your reserve tyre in good time.
• Make sure that you also receive new valves together with new tyres.
• Pay attention to the running direction (if specified) and any other information provided on the sidewall.
